Welcome

On August 10, 2002, Christopher Lee Huff and Abigail Lynn Tallent were united in marriage before God, their families, and their friends. Share in their memories by viewing their wedding photo album, pictures, video, and slideshow.

There's something special about a man and a woman. They are made by God in such a way that they naturally become attracted to one another. As their relationship progresses, they become infatuated, obsessed, and in love with one another. With a little commitment and a lot of perseverance, they will live a long life together, and enjoy each other's company.

This is, of course, a very simplified version of the relationship between a husband and his wife. There are many other implications to ponder, consider, and come to conclusions about. First, what is the difference and purpose of men and women? A husband and wife are to have a harmonious, godly, and personal relationship with one another. They are equal in personhood and importance. Eve was made out of Adam's side, not his head or feet which would have symbolized her superiority or inferiority over or under him, respectively. Man and woman are different, however, in role and authority. Just as it would be impossible for us to function as a nation if every person were the President, there must be some sort of roles established in a marriage in order for it to be successful. As we see in the New Testament, man is the head of woman, Christ is the head of man, and God is the head of Christ. As the spiritual leader, man must not be a dictator, but rather he must gather strength from his whole family in order to accomplish the family's goals. A wife should submit to her husband alone, not to any other man. Woman is not inferior to man, and therefore there is no reason for a woman to submit herself to any man other than her husband.

I would like to quote an article that I read online. It summarizes how people should look at their marriage, and encourages us to live godly lives.

Love does not grow automatically. It takes hard work, patience, care, unconditional forgiveness and acceptance. Love is the very heart of God and is the center of mankind. (Lee)

Abby and I definately are not perfect, but we always seek to maintain a strong marriage built on godly principles. We pray that if you are married, you would do likewise. I hope that this web site will aid and encourage you in your pursuit of a godly marriage.
